Edinburgh Global Master's Scholarship

The University of Edinburgh will offer 40 Master's scholarships for postgraduate study in any subject offered by the University for the 2014-2015 academic session.
Fifteen scholarships will have a value of £5,000 each, while a further twenty-five scholarships will have a value of £3,000 each. These scholarships will be tenable for one academic year and will be deducted from tuition fees.
The scholarships will be awarded to students who are nationals of countries outwith the EU who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master's programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.
Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Preference will be given to candidates who have not already had the opportunity to study in Scotland.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree.

Scholarship Description: A scholarship to support PhD research into radio astronomy and radio astronomy engineering is available at the Curtin University node of ICRAR, based in Perth, Western Australia. ICRAR is a Joint Venture between Curtin University and The University of Western Australia and currently has a staff and student complement of almost 100. The Curtin node of ICRAR undertakes significant projects in both radio astronomy engineering and science. The project would suit an engineer or physicist with an interest in antennas, RF systems and DSP, with the emphasis between topics being adjustable to cater for individual preferences. This scholarship is available to international students and consists of tuition fees for the duration of the award, along with a tax free living allowance of $25,000 per year.A relocation allowance is available and support for travel is also available.

Scholarship Description: The Canadian Japanese-Mennonite Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship available to a student who is Canadian or a landed immigrant, enrolled in a graduate degree program in Canada, doing research that will assist the protection of minority or human rights.The scholarship was created as a tangible symbol of cooperation between Canadian Japanese and Canadian Mennonites, subsequent to a formal apology that was offered to Canadian Japanese, by MCC Canada on behalf of Canadian Mennonites. It is intended to assist the protection of minority and human rights in Canada, and to reduce the potential for abuse of cultural minorities such as that suffered by Japanese Canadians during World War II.
